Mjolnir takes its name from the Norse god Thor’s famous hammer, which grants him devastating power, and the ability to bend the forces of nature to his will. The song makes the case that we (as humans) now possess these godlike powers, but are not yet evolved enough to use them wisely. This is our first song written primarily by lead guitarist Loko McDonald, and is the beginning of a new, heavier sound for Intrøspect.
lyrics
Behold!
Our empire stands on broken bones
Grey spires twist the knife and cut the stars from the sky
[from the sky]
Our mother’s ablaze and she’s going down
This is the price of ambition
Murderers! Murderers!
We have forsaken her love
We forgot we were a part of what was lost
Gifts from the earth are placed in our palm
From the seed, we grow and expand
Forceful ascension
At what cost? At what cost?
This is ascension now [this is ascension now]
This is ascension now
Mjolnir, strike the ground
Break the bones of the earth
What is the price to be paid? Who will wipe away the blood?
Mjolnir, strike the ground
Break her to dust, and to the dust we return
Our world so fragile, suspended in a beam of light
A miracle abandoned [drifting endlessly]
This is ascension now [at what cost]
This is ascension now [at what cost]
This is ascension now [at what cost, at what cost]
At what cost?
We are, gods without grace
We are, leaving her embrace
If this is ascension now, commit my soul to the earth
And Strike her down!

“… And Everything In Between” was a great introduction to the band, and after having listened to it 2975295 times in a relatively short while I could appreciate “Artificial Void” (which is perhaps a bit more intricate?) better. Alice M.
Me encanta este album porque refleja el gran esfuerzo y dedicacion que Daniels ha hecho en su carrera, y se nota lo mucho que le gusta. Las personas no se comprenden al 100% entre realidades, pero la música es un lenguaje indescriptible. Felicidades Dan, te lo has ganado. dxgrid
Very ambient only slightly existing metal influences and so exactly the music I like.
Great vocals despite a bit of unnecessary grunting on one track.
A really good album. Boris Stalf
Midwestern prog-metal stalwarts go for the throat on their new EP, featuring a roiling cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' “1979.” Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2019
Every single member of this band is incredibly skilled in their own right, but I love how much they accentuate each other's talents into these masterful tracks. The whole album is excellent. I'm so happy they were finally able to come to my home state and perform.
Incredible band, can't wait to listen to what comes next. quantumquail
