Itomori is the softest song on Midnight Sun, and takes its name from a fictional town in the Japanese animated feature film Your Name. Both works explore feelings of longing and loss by two characters separated by distance, time, and fate ; in the case of Itomori, the song details the experience of losing one’s first love. Telling the story of the journey from heartbreak to acceptance, Itomori is about wanting the best for those we’ve parted ways with, even if that means we can no longer be a part of their lives.
lyrics
Floating
Dreaming
From your eyes are streaming shattered tears of leaving
Dreaming, of a world where you’re not leaving
On this fault line, we made up our hearts and minds
With fragments of forsaken grace, we fell
Like our shattered words, we fell
Away from the light
Our souls met as one, then cleft in two
When fate severed the bond between-me and you
And I’m sorry words lost their meaning in that sacred storm of ours
I never meant you harm
I just wanted to feel safe in the arms of love
Floating
Dreaming
I hope you’ve found your peace, without me

“… And Everything In Between” was a great introduction to the band, and after having listened to it 2975295 times in a relatively short while I could appreciate “Artificial Void” (which is perhaps a bit more intricate?) better. Alice M.
Me encanta este album porque refleja el gran esfuerzo y dedicacion que Daniels ha hecho en su carrera, y se nota lo mucho que le gusta. Las personas no se comprenden al 100% entre realidades, pero la música es un lenguaje indescriptible. Felicidades Dan, te lo has ganado. dxgrid
Very ambient only slightly existing metal influences and so exactly the music I like.
Great vocals despite a bit of unnecessary grunting on one track.
A really good album. Boris Stalf
Midwestern prog-metal stalwarts go for the throat on their new EP, featuring a roiling cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' “1979.” Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2019
Every single member of this band is incredibly skilled in their own right, but I love how much they accentuate each other's talents into these masterful tracks. The whole album is excellent. I'm so happy they were finally able to come to my home state and perform.
Incredible band, can't wait to listen to what comes next. quantumquail
